Marina Bay Sands to pay player $6.5 million for negligence

A High Roller named Wang Xi accused Marina Bay Sands Casino (Singapore) of making unauthorized transactions from his account to the accounts of other players. The player filed a lawsuit only last year, and the transactions themselves took place in 2015. In total, 22 transfers were made in the amount of $6.5 million, which the casino agreed to return.

It is reported that based on the documents, Wang Xi transferred $6.5 million to his casino account from October to December 2015. And this money was then transferred to the accounts of other casino guests. According to the player, he did not make transfers and the documents authorizing the transactions were forged.

He believes that Marina Bay Sands is responsible for what happened, because they did not contact him and did not make sure that he really approved of the transfers. Who was the recipient of this money, and how much each of them received, is not disclosed.

Wang Xi stated that his signature was simply copied. And it was not possible to conduct an examination during the proceedings, since the casino destroyed the original documents in order to maintain confidentiality. According to a friend of the victim, they made a deal with the casino on the terms that neither side admits guilt.

Litigation worth millions of dollars between players and casinos can last for years. Another multi-year litigation recently ended. When famous poker player Phil Ivey and casino Borgata came to a compromise after 6 years of litigation. The poker player was accused of cheating when playing at high stakes, and the issue amount exceeded $10 million.
