December 30, Putin signed the law on the creation of the Unified Gambling Regulator and in 270 days it will come into force. And this means that all rates will go through the new regulator, instead of the two existing TSUPIS. And from each bet, the state will charge 1.5% for the development of sports.
The single center will accept, process bets and withhold 1.5% of deductions. Further, the collected funds will be sent to the Unified Regulator, and from there distributed among the federations and leagues. Who will be appointed to handle the bets is still unknown.
The minimum of the above deductions should be 30 million rubles every quarter. Initially, it was assumed that the minimum wage would be 5 million rubles for each sport offered by the bookmaker. However, the operators have warned that they will be forced to limit themselves to major sports and funding for smaller federations will simply disappear.
Market participants assume that in the future the amount of deductions will continue to increase. It is expected that small bookmakers will leave the market, as the minimum deductions will become an unbearable burden for them. In mid-December, VulkanBet had already left Russia. The operator noted that he would focus on markets with more loyal business conditions.
